INTERACTIONS-INTEGRATIONS – POLISH FANTASY
Martín García García – Pianist

Everyone is welcome when K&Mfest (NYCMF) invites you to the orchestral concert Polish Fantasy in Fartein Valen. The concert is free for the public. Just show up!

On stage we meet the festival’s partner, the orchestra Sinfonia Varsovia under the direction of conductor Bassem Akiki. The award-winning pianist Martín García García is the soloist in Chopin’s 2nd Piano Concerto, and we also get to hear music by Bacewicz and Kilar.

After the break, there will be an exciting first performance of a work that composer and sound artist Piotr Peszat and video artist, photographer and visual artist Grzegorz Mart have created together. The work has been titled “Music, action! for a painter, orchestra, live-electronics and live-video”.

The concert is part of the festival ‘s Interactions-Integrations , a cultural project supported by EEA funds (2022–2024). K&Mfest thanks its supporters Stavanger Municipality, Rogaland County Municipality, Sparebankstiftelsen SR-Bank, the Polish Embassy in Norway and the Spanish Embassy in Norway.

The Interactions/Integrations project is a part of the “Culture” program co-financed by the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism for 2014–2021.
